New CF Unit

What are we building?

TLC4CF’s primary objective is to fully fund the construction of a new adult Cystic Fibrosis Unit at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, which will cost in the region of €5million to construct and fully furnish.

It is essential to acknowledge that this project could not have been possible without the wonderful support from the J.P McManus ‘Pro Am‘ fund – from which TLC4CF received €3million towards this capital project!!! The remaining funds have been provided by Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and through the fundraising efforts of TLC4CF and our wonderful supporters.

The unit will consist of five stories and will provide new facilities dedicated to breast diseases, neurological conditions, skin disorders and Cystic Fibrosis. Two floors of this new state of the art building will be dedicated to the care of adult patients with CF and will provide 9 in-patients en-suite rooms and an outpatient centre with 5 individual en-suite rooms and a CF gym.

This new unit will provide a safe and sterile treatment environment for adults with CF attending the MWRH, Limerick.
